Cameron Highlands during Christmas

Best hilly location nearby Kuala Lumpur

Our friends from Singapore planned a visit to Cameron Highlands and asked us to join them so that we all can meet together, as we were in Kuala Lumpur. It was during the Christmas,2016 that we visited Cameron.

Many a people, drive themselves to Cameron, but as it was our first visit, so we decided to go via Bus. As we both were working, so we booked an evening volvo bus. We left for TBS by Uber car from KL sentral to catch the bus. It was a smooth journey until in-between around 9pm the bus stopped for a break, and I did a big blunder that we realized later on. I drank chocolate milk and Guess what!!!!! After then only, the fully curved spiral road started and believe me it went on and on. I was thinking now plain will come and the bus may halt, but all in vain... After half an hour of that spiral travel, I started feeling very uncomfortable and when couldn't control, puked. Just after that only in 5 mins we reached and I was perfectly good.

The bus stopped at the bus stop of Cameron Highlands around 11pm, and as our Hotel was nearby only and the weather was cool, so we just walked down, and in 10mins we were there, at 'Hotel Heritage'.

And there were all our friends (10 of them) already arrived from Singapore. I just loved meeting all of them, in fact met 4 of them for the first time. We had dinner there in the hotel itself, and as everyone travelled the same day and were tired, so slept off.

Night view from the hotel

Next day morning, we had our buffet breakfast, everyone got ready and we left for 'Bharat Tea Estate' which is located in Tanah Rata. It is a must visit when you are in Cameron.

As the route was hilly, so one of our expert friend who has driven the car before on hills, she drove, the car which they hired from Singapore itself. It took us almost half an hour from our hotel to reach BOH. She parked the car and we all walked towards the estate area and climbed up the stairs to the main area.

The view from the top was in harmony and tranquillity, it was just beautiful to which the cloudy weather was cherry on the top. The scenic vistas and the cool fresh breathable air made everyone relax there for a longer time. We walked over whole of that area, chit chatted, clicked pics, relaxed and had fun.

All of a sudden, it started drizzling, so we all had to come under a shed area, when it stopped, we explored more, but then again started raining heavily, so we all came downstairs to BOH restaurant and ordered sausages, Hot Dogs, Muffin and of course the BOH Tea.

On our way back from BOH, we stopped in between at Cameron Bharat plantations and had snacks and tea by the hills. It was drizzling, so the pathway to go downstairs actually became slippery. Very carefully we got down in between the plantation area. It was an awesome cloudy cold weather to enjoy the magnificent scenic view.

Then we drove towards Big Red Strawberry farm. I hand picked few fresh strawberries, which were so delicious. It's a kind of an one stop destination farm and the garden, wherein you can find varieties of plants of lettuce, other veggies, flowers and nearby is also the Cactus valley, wherein there were so many cactus variants.

The farm had a large café serving delicious refreshments and of course strawberry eatables. There was a Product store as well selling gifts and strawberry jams, juice, syrup and had many other alternatives. Strawberry Syrup is a must buy, its heavenly when made  as strawberry shake.

Then left for hotel to relaxed for sometime and then went to the market area for dinner. Had dinner and we all walked to the nearby area and had fun. At night, we all went to the church compound nearby to our hotel, in search of the main door to see if its open or not, we took a full round of the church that too at night, and must say one of our friend made it a hilarious night by becoming manjulika (scary character from one of the Bollywood films).

It was a night to remember and after coming back to hotel, how can we all sleep, without having a round of game ,so there we go... all of us played 'UNO', laughing, giggling, pulling leg of each other,  giving +4, +2, reverse, skip... LOL till late night in the hotel.

Next day, made plan to visit one of the waterfalls, so, after having our breakfast, we all drove towards Lata Iskander Waterfall. It's far from Tanah Lot, took almost an hour to reach this place. This place is not so famous, but It is really a big Waterfall on that windy twisty road.

We all spent almost half a day enjoying in the waterfall, and 3 of our Photographer friends making the best use of this place, by clicking awesome pictures. We all had an awesome time here. The water comes in full force, and in between while walking in water towards waterfall, one has to be careful, as its bit shallow and unstable rocks within your feet.

After returning, as it was a Christmas eve, so all of us, got fresh, and again left in search of a delicious Christmas eve dinner, but all in vain, as there people celebrate Christmas on 24th eve/ night. So, we had dinner in our same restaurant in the market. And this was day 2 of our fun filled game 'UNO'. There's nothing like having a gala time with friends.

Final day, we all had breakfast together and our friends from Singapore started there journey back to Singapore. We both packed and left for the nearby area.
