Bukit Tinggi

Bukit tinggi is a place to take a day or two off away from Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia.

It was during our 2nd anniversary, that we planned, just 2 days before, to escape in between the hills nearby, thus made a visit Bukit tinggi.

I researched about finding ways to visit Bukit Tinggi:
Drive up by car - but last moment we couldn't get the appropriate car. So, next
Bus - that goes from Berjaya times square hotel, in Bukit Bintang,  KL to Bukit tinggi at various timings. But unfortunately on calling up to Berjaya Office, found that it's fully booked over that weekend.
Of course, what will happen at the last moment. Then,
Grab car service - finally this idea came to my hubby and he checked on Grab app and to my surprise Grab cars goes to Tinggi. Yipeeee.....

DAY 1
Here we come, we booked grab in afternoon and in 1.5hr reached Tinggi. Usually It takes approx 45mins from Kuala Lumpur.

There we found out that if anyone reserves any of the resorts over there or goes by the Berjaya bus, then we will be accessible to visit the major tourist spot i.e., Colmar Tropicale, Rabbit farm and Japanese Village. Or else, if you drive and go on your own, then for all these spots one will have to purchase separately a entrance fee on RM 12 (adult) and RM8(Child-4-12 yrs).

We checked in to Berjaya Hills Golf and Country Club. Found out at the reception that they have many games at there campus to play like Golf, Table tennis, Tennis, Bowling, Badminton, Squash, and many more.

Receptionist also guided us that locally we can explore by Local bus that goes from Berjaya Golf resort to all the tourist places. And the receptionist said next bus is coming in an hour. That was a great news for us. So, we walked down to our room. The lobby area was really shavy, we thought initially what a place and that too underground. But to our surprise, when the person opened the door, wow I was so damn happy - a huge room with great comfortable furniture and one side full glass overseeing to their swimming pool, garden and then the hilly view. I was full of Joy, I walked over towards the garden side watching the hills.

We rested for an hour, then went to the lobby and in 5mins the closed box bus came. It's ride was like slipping from one side of the wooden seat to the other while the bus was taking turns on the hilly road.

We got down at Colmar Tropicale Parking place. In front, there is a beautifully crafted fountain, and then you walk over the lane surrounded by Garden.

Ahead comes a wooden over bridge just in front of the main entrance to this French Colony. Colmar Tropicale Berjaya Resort is a 4star resort comprising 248 French themed hotel suites and rooms.

Just at the entrance, there are very beautifully crafted 2 colourful horses. Many a shops and restaurants are lined up one after the other. We were having a nice time walking over the cobblestone pathway, there were many a families, especially with small cute kids walking around. I really loved this family orientation thing about people in Malaysia.

Then we saw the 3D Animation shops and the best thing we enjoyed was the games. At the end corner, there were 3-4 stalls of Games, wherein, you pay minimal amount(RM4) and play, and if you win the game then you will get the Soft Toys and few other items. We played two games of picking up a duck toy from the pond and won a small 'Winnie the Pooh'.

At the centre end, stands a observation Tower. We took stairs till one floor, then I realized it had lift as well then took lift and went up. It had a nice full view of Colmar Square and admirable scenic view of the surroundings. While returning, we took the stairs as it was just 4 storey.

We grabbed Sandwich and popcorn from one of the restaurants, sat for sometime, chillaxed and then went inside Colmar Hotel, enquired about the car service back to KL, so to which they mentioned that we need to confirm and then they will find out about the cab and let us know that when can we get the same ( that could take 2-4 hrs and charges were RM 200). Then we headed back to the entrance and found that under the over bridge was moat. So, we took the stairs near the Moat and there were so many beautiful fishes,2 white swan and 1 black swan swimming all around.

We then took another way up towards the garden, enjoyed the calming wind and the clouds passing over the hills. As it was going to be dark, so we went back to our resort. As it was just 7pm, so we went the club and played games.

While returning to room, it was already dark and all of a sudden, the weather  became cold and we can listen to so many insects and animals sound around. It was totally a different feel itself, we stood around for 15-20mins and then back to room.

DAY 2

Berjaya had breakfast, so we had from spread across breakfast menu. And I chose the table in the gallery having a mesmerizing hilly morning view. Aaahhhhh......!!! I just cant forget that view, it was so peaceful and delighting to the heart. We sat there for an hour eating watching the hills. I just didn't felt like going from there. But yeah, finally I was pushed by my hubby ;P and we got ready for the day.

This morning was just a different style open Bus, I so wanted to ride in this when I saw this bus a day before. We heard from hotel staffs that it's just for Resort Internal employees, but they took us, We both fully enjoyed the open bus ride enjoying the roads, wind, people and view around from it.

We got down near Japanese Garden Parking space, and walked up to the stairs and then to the hills. I was surprised to see small kids climbing up the steep hill on there own. We took up the stairs which lead to a forest area, it was so vibrant and greenery around with huge tress and sound of animals. There is a Spa centre, a restaurant and a kind of Japanese hut in its campus.

Then we walked to the trail of Botanical Garden. There were varieties of species of flora. Then we walked up back towards a artefact shop and further back to the Parking lot. By this time, we already had walked 10,000 steps ;P. Our daily goal was completed again. In 10mins, the tour bus came and we were dropped to Colmar tropicale. We walked towards French colony, today too we played the duck game twice, but in vain couldn't win anything. It was already 2pm, so we had Pizza for our lunch and moved back to Berjaya Golf resort.

We finally wanted to leave with Bang on... and here we went for Bowling, played 3 games with many a strikes... Yo man!

Had a really great time.
