CAMBODIA

Siem Reap

What a different city man! Have you wondered of a clean village comprising of such rich architect, beautiful river, rice paddies and it’s fresh cool breeze. Wow, I just loved it and the tuk tuk ride in the month of February was like a 'cherry on the top'.
Siem Reap is based in Cambodia (South East Asia). It’s a beautiful place, and especially very famous for its archaeological heritage of temples. It’s a clean small city.
Also, Siem reap is such a place that if you wanna cover all the places properly, then you have to put on your sports shoes and be ready to walk and walk. And at night get decked up for a vibrant party night at Pub Street.

How to get to Siem Reap:

Siem Reap is well connected. There are almost all the modes to reach Siem Reap i.e., via Flight/ Bus/ Mini Bus/ Boat. To Know in detail visit travelsm-travel modes to reach siemreap .

Where to Stay in Siem Reap:

There are many good Hotels, Hostels as well as luxury resorts in the city. I will suggest to stay nearby Pub Street/ Night market, so that after whole day tour you can walk down there and get pampered with Spa, get massages, have delicious food and dance to the tune of music.

Good to know things about Siem Reap:

  • Clothing -People should visit temples in decent covered cloths i.e., no sleeveless, no shorts. Wear shirts/tops/dresses covering the shoulders and Pants/Skirts/ Dress should be below the Knee.
  • Do wear sports shoes for a comfortable day, as you will have to walk a lot.
  • Do carry Cap, googles and water.
  • Usually its sunny, so apply sunscreen properly (if you do not wanna get tanned ðŸ˜‰
  • As few places have mosquitoes, especially at night, so better to keep Mosquito repellent spray/cream with you.
  • Here, Vehicles are left hand driving.
  • Take care of your belongings.
  • Be kind to the locals.
There are mainly the temples to visit in Siem Reap, for which there’s visiting ticket known as 'Angkor pass' that every foreign visitor need to purchase for most of the temples including Angkor Wat.

Charges for Angkor Pass (ticket) is as follows:

1 day – 37$ – it is valid only on the day of purchase.
3 day – 62$  – it is valid for 10 days from the date of purchase.
7 day – 72$ – it is valid for 1 month from the date of purchase.
For children below 12 years of age its free entry.
Timings for Angkor Park and Ticket Office is from 5 am – 5:30 pm.
The Travel agents or Tuk tuk drivers offer two rides around Angkor: One is Small Tour and the other one is Grand tour. Prefer to do one tour in one day and the other one the next day. It is totally worth investing the time and money to explore the city properly, and I will suggest to Stay at least for 3 days in Siem Reap.
No visitor comes away without a  measure of admiration and affection for this enigmatic kingdom and its inhabitants.
There are many a spots to visit in Siem Reap, and each one has it’s own history.
